| Fox Hunt Splash — 2011 Summer |
The Fox Hunt Swim Team is in Division 7 for the 2011 summer season.
Other teams in our Division this year are: Orange Hunt, Dowden Terrace, Waynewood, Riverside Gardens, and Sleepy Hollow Bath and Racquet.
We welcome back Dana Carnaggio as our Head Coach for her third season.
Also returning are Assistant Head Coach Shannon Yi and Assistant Coaches Jessica Goldsby and Peter Simonsen.

TEAM OUTFITTING
We are using the same team suits from last year.
If your suit is still in good shape, there is no need to get a new suit.
For those who need new suits, the girls again have a choice of the TYR Alliance Splice (wide straps) and the TYR Alliance Lightning (thin straps).
The boys have a choice of the TYR Alliance Male Splice Jammer and TYR racing suit (“speedo”).
All team suits are black/royal blue with the FX team logo.
Used Suit Trade/Sale/Purchase:
We will have a table at sign-ups for parents to sell, purchase, or trade gently used team suits.
Please bring any team suit that your kids have outgrown and hopefully it will find a new owner.
New Suits: SuitUp will be at sign-ups with a limited number of assorted suits for purchase.
Team suits are not mandatory but encouraged for team spirit.
New suits may also be purchased at SuitUp in Fairfax using the
order form.
NEW this year:
All swimmers will be required to wear swim caps (FX or plain, no other team logos) while swimming at meets.
We will have FX logoed silicone and latex caps available for purchase at Sign-Ups.
We will have royal blue mesh shorts with the FX logo for pre-order at Sign-Ups.

PRACTICE TIMES*
Two practice schedules are posted below, one for during the school year and one for summer vacation.
As the pool will be very crowded during afternoon practices, for safety reasons only swimmers who are able to swim multiple laps (25 meters) consecutively will be allowed to practice. All others will start when morning practices begin.

* As the demographics of the Swim Team become finalized during the first few weeks of practice, we may need to make adjustments to the practice sessions shown above based upon either age groups or individual abilities.
This is in order to make the workload more equitable for the coaching staff and the practices more meaningful for the swimmers.
**Practices from Wednesday, July 27 through Friday, July 29 will be only for those swimmers who have qualified to swim in Divisionals and alternates.
For all other swimmers, the last day of practice is July 26.

In order to come to afternoon practices, swimmers must be able to swim several consecutive 25-meter laps (can take short rests on the wall). This is a safety issue because the after school practices are very crowded since we only use a few lanes. For morning practices, to be on the team, swimmers must be able to swim across the deep end unassisted and comfortably (but in any stroke). The coaches will be happy to evaluate any swimmer whose parents are not sure about whether he/she meets these qualifications.

Mini-Splash
If your child does not meet the above requirements, we welcome them to join our Mini-Splash.
This program is for children that are at least five years old by June 1, 2011.
Children should be comfortable in the water, willing to submerge their entire head for 5 seconds, and be able to swim 10 yards on their front and back.
Our goal with these swimmers is to get them to complete 25 yards on their front and/or back for a “B” meet by the end of the season.
Mini-Splash practices will be held at the times noted above below from Thursday, June 23 through Friday, July 22.
